Used Cars Are the Last Remaining Untapped Market in the Auto Industry

(ContentDesk) November 1, 2005 -- Car Dealer Marketing announced the launch of The Used Car Sellution", an innovative, proprietary online marketing program for Internet-savvy auto dealers that drives pre-qualified used vehicle buyers directly to the inventory department on a dealer's own web site.
The Used Car Sellution" is being used by Asbury Automotive, the fifth largest mega-dealership group in the country, for its Crown Automotive subsidiary and two of its dealerships in North Carolina and one in Virginia.
The program delivered over 15,000 additional pre-qualified used vehicle buyers to Crown's web site in August and September, which averages around 40,000 visitors a month.
It resulted in the company selling 53 additional used vehicles, yielding profits in excess of $92,000, according to Alan Hack, president of Car Dealer Marketing.
That's right, $92,000 in profits, not sales.

We're pretty excited about this, as are the folks at Asbury and Crown, which stocks 700-800 used vehicles at all times.Crown management was sufficiently pleased with a test market conducted earlier in May.
It resulted in Car Dealer Marketing being granted a contract to implement The Used Car Sellution" in three of the cities in which it has dealerships:
Greensboro, Raleigh, and Richmond.
The Used Car Sellution" is specifically designed to maximize a dealer's investment in its own web site by increasing used cars sales. The program features:????Exclusivity - Only one dealership or dealership group is able to take advantage of the exclusive rights to this program in any given city or metropolitan area.????Market Reach - Locally focused in a city and surrounding areas to attract used car buyers in a specific market.????Market Share - Enables a dealer to sell a larger percentage of the available used car buyers in its market, used car buyers who might not otherwise become a dealer's customers.????Enhanced Demand - Positions a dealership as "The Premier Place" to buy used cars in its city.????Unique Domain Name - Uses the #1 Internet Address for used cars in a city.????Dealer Inventory Portal - Turnkey professional online Dealer Inventory Portal focused on driving targeted Internet traffic directly to the used car inventory on a dealer's own web site. ????Cost-Efficiency - One of the least expensive ways in the auto industry to increase used car sales. The company provides access to an online tracking system that displays the number of times the Dealer Inventory Portal is visited by prospective used car buyers accessing the program in each market.A dealership may, at its option, also use the campaigns unique domain name for offline advertising to produce additional traffic to the Dealer Inventory Portal.

Suitable for advertising in newspapers, magazines, television, radio, billboards, and other media. The Used Car Sellution" is most effective in markets with a population in excess of 500,000 adults.
With costs based on an areas population, a dealership or dealership group may request a price quotation from the company after submitting a detailed geographical description of each of the market areas from which it draws its customer base..

Consumers Need Serious Credit Education: Consumers count on their credit reports to buy cars, homes, insurance and to secure a job yet millions have no idea how to manage their credit reports.

(ContentDesk) September 23, 2004 -- Why is it that a person will sit down and begin to plan their financial future, make a plan to payoff their debts and even put money away for early retirement but won't bother to plan or protect their most valuable financial asset?their credit? It's an epidemic in the United States: bad credit. People pay higher interest and insurance rates, lose out on employment opportunities and generally look bad, all because of their credit reports. If that's the case then why are so many Americans in the dark about their credit and how to make it better and keep it strong? According, to credit expert, Kristi Feathers, consumers are intimidated by credit bureaus, creditors and collection agencies. If they are told their credit is poor they often accept it as gospel and pay higher rates.
What they don't realize is that credit reports contain errors, collection agencies often violate Federal Fair Debt Collection laws and creditors make mistakes that cost...

Used Cars:

Thinking about a used car extended warranty? Nervous about what's under the hood? Used car dealers are feeling your pain all the way to the bank. In an ironic twist, "pre-owned vehicle" dealers have found a way to profit from their bad reputation.

No, they're not just selling overpriced used car extended warranties anymore. They're charging a 10%-25% markup on used cars "certified" (by them) not to be pieces of junk. The accompanying "certified" used car warranties in fact usually carry much less protection than the best used car warranties, which you can buy yourself online.

Who needs a used car warranty if your jalopy is a "certified" machine?

But even paying 10%-25% more won't eliminate risk. Thorough extended warranties for used cars are necessary, "certified" or not. In some cases, a half-hearted inspection means the certification may not be worth the paper it's written on. Used car problems often only appear months or years after purchase....

Sports Cars Offer High Gas Mileage Cure for the SUV Blues

Fort Collins, CO (ContentDesk) May 27, 2006 -- Several sporty, high-performance automobiles such as the Chevrolet Corvette, Porsche Boxster and Lotus Elise can get 28 or 29 miles per gallon on the highway according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), making sports cars a viable choice for those seeking high gas mileage along with style, status, and fun.In contrast, the similarly-priced Hummer H2 gets at best 13 mpg, according to dealers.
A Cadillac Escalade sports utility vehicle achieves only 18 mpg on the highway per the EPA.
Even the 4Runner SUV by Toyota -- a company often associated in the minds of the public with good fuel economy -- is rated at just 22 mpg for a two-wheel drive, six-cylinder base model. But wait -- are we not comparing apples and oranges here?
A sports car versus an SUV?
These vehicles are purchased for entirely different purposes, right?
The comparison is not as far-fetched as it might initially seem,...
